Sensei Mickey Heath

 Sensei Mickey Heath has trained in martial arts for over thirty years and sharing his knowledge with his students for 25 years. Sensei Heath holds black belt ranks in several disciplines of martial arts with his highest being a 5th degree in Isshinryu Karate. 

Sensei Heath holds several awards for his years of dedication to the arts. He holds an Outstanding Black Belt Award by the American Jujitsu Association, a member of the Martial Arts Hall of Fame. He is a past US Sport Jujitsu team member and assistant coach. In 2000, he led the US Sport Jujitsu and Grappling team to a Gold victory as head coach. 

After several years of competing and coaching, Sensei Heath now enjoys what he loves most, sharing his knowledge with others like you.

The School of Hard Knox is now located in the Armfield Civic and Recreation Center, offering classes for all ages.

Women’s Self Defense Classes

These classes will be offered as needed. Offering women of all ages knowledge of how to protect themselves in random situations. These classes are one day a week for six weeks and will be held according to demand. Please sign up at the front desk when interested.

Private Lessons
Offered to anyone in 30-minute or 1-hour classes. These classes are for individuals and/or groups of 3 or less that are looking for one-on-one training or a specific self-goal.

PeeWee Classes (ages 5–7)

This class consists of beginning techniques, self-defense, patience, discipline, and respect.

Junior Classes (ages 8–12)

Adult Classes (ages 13 and up)

These classes consist of more in-depth training with both Isshinryu and jujitsu. Utilizing strikes, kicks, punches, knees, and elbows. Along with more kata (a pre-arranged combination of self-defense moves), Okinawan weaponry and sparring as well as self-defense, takedowns, locks, and submission holds.

All students will train in traditional Isshinryu and jujitsu in which ranks are given in both disciplines. All students train with discipline, respect, and self-control to achieve the highest level of personal accomplishment possible.
